Truo is a technological intermediary between users. We do not provide emotional, matchmaking, psychological, legal, medical or personal safety advisory services. We may update, modify, limit, test or discontinue certain features when this is necessary to improve the service, for security, to prevent abuse, for technical reasons, due to app store requirements or to comply with the law. In the case of significant changes that affect use of the service or user rights, we will try to provide prior notice where reasonably possible.
3.1. Test, beta or pre-launch periods
During test, beta or pre-launch periods, certain features may be unstable, incomplete, modified, limited or withdrawn. Service availability may be limited and some technical errors may occur while using the application.

4. Acceptance of the Terms and changes
By creating an account or using Truo, you confirm that you have read and accept these Terms.
We may update the Terms periodically, including when there are legislative changes, changes to the service, technical requirements, app store requirements, changes regarding payments, security or the manner in which the platform operates.
We will announce important changes in the application and/or by email where reasonably possible. Continuing to use the service after the changes take effect means acceptance of the new Terms.
If a change requires your express acceptance, we will request your acceptance in the application or by another appropriate means. If you do not agree with the changes, you have the right to stop using the service and delete your account.
5. Eligibility. Service intended exclusively for persons over 18 years old
Truo is intended exclusively for persons who are at least 18 years old. By creating an account or using the application, you represent and warrant that you are at least 18 years old.
For registration, the application may request age confirmation and/or the entry of your date of birth. If the date entered indicates that you have not reached the age of 18 on the registration date, the account cannot be created.
The following are strictly prohibited:
- creation of an account by a person under 18 years old;
- entry of a false date of birth in order to avoid the age restriction;
- creation of an account on behalf of a person under 18 years old;
- use of the application to contact, attract, manipulate, exploit or endanger minors;

We reserve the right to suspend, restrict or close any account when we have reasonable grounds to believe that this requirement is not being met.

5.1. Procedure regarding possible minor users
If we receive a report or have reasonable grounds to believe that a user is under 18 years old, we may take immediate measures, including:
- temporary suspension of the account;
- hiding the profile from the application;
- limiting messages or other features;
- requesting clarification regarding age;
- closing the account if we cannot reasonably confirm that the user is at least 18 years old.
If the suspicion is confirmed or the user does not provide sufficient clarification, the account may be permanently closed.

Truo does not carry out mandatory identity, criminal record, criminal background, legal status, conduct, intention or personal history checks for all users.
We do not guarantee the identity, real age, intentions, history, conduct, honesty, marital status, professional status, health status, character, safety or truthfulness of information provided by users.
We may introduce or use optional or mandatory checks in the future, including photo checks, video checks, age checks, profile checks or other safety mechanisms, with notice to users and in accordance with applicable law.
Even if a verification feature is available, it does not guarantee that a user is safe, honest or suitable for you. Verification may confirm only certain limited elements, depending on the technology and procedure used.
You are responsible for using caution in all interactions with other users, especially if you decide to communicate outside the application or meet in person.
7. Account creation and security
7.1. Data provided
To create and use an account, we may request information such as your first name, email address, password, date of birth, photographs, profile description, preferences and other information necessary for the application to function.
The application may request access to location for options such as displaying relevant profiles, calculating approximate distance or improving the in-app experience.
Location access is not mandatory. You may use the Truo application without allowing access to the device location. In that case, certain features based on location, distance or displaying nearby profiles may be limited, less accurate or unavailable.
Truo does not display your exact location to other users and does not publish precise GPS coordinates in your profile. Location data is processed in accordance with the Privacy Policy, to the extent necessary for the operation of the application, security and abuse prevention.
Details about the data collected, purposes, legal bases, retention periods and your rights are explained in the Privacy Policy.
7.2. Accuracy of information
You are responsible for providing true, current and accurate information and for keeping it updated.
It is prohibited to create a fake profile, use another person's identity, photographs, voice, likeness or data without that person's consent, or mislead other users regarding your identity, age, intentions or other relevant information.
It is prohibited to use content generated or modified by artificial intelligence, filters, editing applications, deepfake, face swap or other similar technologies to impersonate another person, create fake profiles or mislead users.
7.3. Account security
You are responsible for keeping your access credentials, passwords and verification codes confidential and for the activities carried out through your account.
You must not disclose your password, codes received by SMS or email, or other authentication data to anyone.
You may not sell, transfer, lend, share or make your account available to another person.
If you suspect unauthorized use of your account, notify us immediately at contact@truo.ro. We may temporarily suspend access to the account for security checks.
7.4. Verification
At present, we do not carry out mandatory photo/video identity checks for all users.
We may introduce additional, optional or mandatory checks in the future, with notice to users and in accordance with applicable law.
8. Account and data deletion
You may delete your account at any time from the application settings, if this feature is available, or you may contact us at contact@truo.ro.
Upon account deletion:
- your profile will no longer be visible to other users;
- we will delete or anonymize account data from active systems, to the extent permitted by law and in accordance with the Privacy Policy;
- we may retain data strictly necessary for compliance with legal obligations, accounting records, security, fraud prevention, dispute resolution or the defense of our rights;
- certain data may remain temporarily in backups until overwritten according to ordinary technical cycles;
- messages and content already transmitted to other users may remain visible to them for a limited period or may be anonymized, in accordance with the Privacy Policy.
We cannot control copies made by other users, such as screenshots of your messages, photographs or profile.
Deleting the Truo account or uninstalling the application does not automatically cancel an active subscription through the App Store or Google Play. To stop subscription renewal, you must cancel it from the app store account used for the purchase.
8.1. Inactive accounts
If an account is inactive for an extended period, for example 12 months or more, we may deactivate, archive, hide or delete the account, with prior notice where reasonably possible.
Before permanent deletion, we may send a notice to the email address associated with the account, where reasonably possible. The data will be deleted or anonymized in accordance with the Privacy Policy, except for data that must be retained for legal obligations, security, fraud prevention, investigations or defense of our rights.

9.1. Ownership
You own the rights to your Content to the extent permitted by law.
9.2. License granted to Truo
By uploading, publishing or transmitting Content through the application, you grant us a non-exclusive, free, revocable license, territorially limited to the areas in which we operate and limited in time to the period during which the content is kept in our active systems, in order to:
- display the Content in the application to other users, according to the application settings and features;
- technically adapt the Content, for example by resizing, compression, conversion or optimization, for operation and display in the application;

We reserve the right to remove content and/or suspend, limit or close accounts in the event of breach of these rules.
11.1. Conduct outside the application
We may also take measures for conduct outside the application if it is connected to interactions initiated through Truo, affects user safety, involves harassment, threats, abuse, fraud, blackmail, violence, exploitation or may affect the integrity of the community.

Interactions between users, including messages, dates, exchange of information or the decision to communicate outside the application, take place at the users' own responsibility.
Truo does not control users' offline conduct and cannot guarantee the identity, intentions, history, honesty or conduct of other users.

- the approximate date of the incident;
- the email address associated with your account;

Reports must be made in good faith. False, abusive, repeated, misleading reports or reports made for the purpose of harassment, revenge or discrimination may result in limitation of features, suspension or closure of the reporting person's account.
12.4. Investigation and measures
Following reports, we may investigate, request clarification, remove content, limit features, suspend or close accounts.
For reasons of confidentiality, safety and data protection, we may not be able to communicate all details regarding measures taken against another user.
12.5. Authorities and urgent situations
In serious situations or where required by law, we may transmit strictly necessary information to authorities, in accordance with the law.
If you are in immediate danger, contact the emergency services at 112. Truo is not an emergency service and does not monitor all interactions between users in real time.
13. Moderation, enforcement of rules and reports concerning illegal content
We may, at our reasonable discretion and to the extent permitted by law:

We will act fairly and proportionately, but our moderation decisions may be immediate when necessary to protect the community, prevent fraud, secure the service or comply with the law.
13.1. Reports under the Digital Services Act
To the extent that Truo is considered an intermediary service provider, hosting service or online platform under applicable legislation, we provide users and third parties with electronic mechanisms for reporting content considered illegal.

You may file an appeal within 6 months from communication of the decision at contact@truo.ro, with the subject "Moderation appeal".
Appeals are free of charge and may be submitted electronically.
Please include in the appeal the email address associated with the account, a clear description of the situation and any information that may help us analyze the request.
We will analyze the appeal within a reasonable period. During the review, we may maintain, modify or revoke the measure applied. Decisions on appeals will not be taken exclusively by automated means.
We may not be able to communicate all details of the investigation in order to protect the safety, confidentiality and rights of other users.
15. Premium Features, subscriptions and freemium model
Truo offers free basic features and may offer paid premium features, such as super swipe, boost, "first impression" message, subscriptions, credits, additional visibility or other options available in the future.
The available premium features, duration, limits and specific benefits are displayed in the application before purchase. In the event of a difference between the general description in these Terms and the offer displayed in the application at the time of purchase, the offer displayed before payment applies, to the extent permitted by law.
Premium features may differ over time, by region, by operating system or depending on the application version. We may offer promotional packages, discounts or price changes without affecting already active subscriptions until the next renewal, except where the app store determines otherwise.
Some premium features may have a limited effect in time, may be consumable or may depend on the availability of other users. Use of a premium feature does not guarantee matches, messages, views, dates or other results.
16. Virtual items and consumable features
Consumable features, such as boost, super swipe, "first impression" message, credits or other virtual items, represent limited rights of use within the application.
They:
- do not represent real money;
- have no monetary value outside the application;
- cannot be transferred, sold, exchanged or assigned;
- cannot be converted into money;
- may have a limited duration;
- may expire if this is displayed in the application;
- may be lost if you close your account or if it is closed for breach of the Terms, to the extent permitted by law.
After activation or consumption, virtual items may be non-refundable, except where required by law or by the policies of the App Store, Google Play or another relevant app store.
We may modify, limit, replace or remove certain virtual items or consumable features, while respecting mandatory consumer rights.
17. Subscriptions, payments, automatic renewal and cancellation
17.1. Types of subscriptions
You may choose weekly, monthly, 6-month, annual subscriptions or other options available in the application at the time of purchase.
17.2. Payment processing
Payments are processed through app stores, such as the App Store or Google Play. The terms, conditions and policies of the app store through which you made the purchase apply, including rules regarding payment, billing, refunds and cancellation of subscriptions.
Prices, currency, billing period, applicable taxes and any promotions are displayed before purchase in the app store. The applicable final price is the one confirmed in the app store at the time of purchase.
17.3. Automatic renewal
Subscriptions may automatically renew at the end of each period until cancelled, according to the rules of the app store used for the purchase.
If you received a promotional offer or a discount for the first period, the price may return to the standard price at the next renewal if this was displayed before purchase.
17.4. Cancellation
You may cancel subscription renewal at any time from the settings of the App Store or Google Play account used for the purchase. Cancellation stops future renewal but does not automatically refund periods already paid, except where required by law or by the app store's policies.
Deleting the Truo application or deleting the Truo account does not automatically cancel the active subscription. To stop renewal, you must cancel the subscription from the App Store or Google Play account used for the purchase.
For iOS, you may manage the subscription from Apple ID settings, in the Subscriptions section.
For Android, you may manage the subscription from Google Play, in the Payments and subscriptions section.
After cancellation, you may continue to use the subscription benefits until the end of the period already paid, except where the app store determines otherwise.
17.5. Confirmations and billing
After purchase, you receive confirmation in the app store account and, where applicable, the related tax documents, according to the rules of the platform through which you made the payment.
17.6. Failed payments, chargebacks and payment abuse
If a payment fails, access to premium features may be suspended, limited or not activated, depending on the rules of the relevant app store.
If you initiate an unjustified refund, chargeback, payment cancellation or payment dispute, we may limit or suspend access to premium features or to the account, to the extent permitted by law and by the app store's rules.
This section does not limit mandatory legal consumer rights.
18. Right of withdrawal, refunds and consumer rights
If you are a consumer, you may have legal rights regarding withdrawal from the contract, refunds, remediation or other remedies, under applicable law.
For digital services or premium features supplied immediately after purchase, the right of withdrawal may end before the expiry of the statutory 14-day period if you have expressly consented to the start of supply and confirmed that you understand you may lose your right of withdrawal, under applicable law.
If the service began at your request before the withdrawal period expired and applicable law allows, the refund may be proportional to the part of the service already provided.
For purchases made through the App Store or Google Play, refund requests are handled according to the procedures of the relevant app store and applicable legislation.
No provision of these Terms limits the mandatory rights you have as a consumer where they apply.
19. Complaints regarding the operation of the service
If the service does not function as described or you encounter a significant technical problem, you may contact us at contact@truo.ro.
To allow us to analyze the complaint, please include, where possible:
- the email address associated with the account;
- a description of the problem;
- the approximate date and time;
- the device type;
- the operating system;
- the application version;
- relevant screenshots or recordings, if available.
We will analyze complaints within a reasonable period and, where applicable, will remedy the problem, offer a proportionate solution or apply the measures provided by law.
This section does not affect mandatory consumer rights.
20. Service availability and maintenance
We make reasonable efforts to keep the service continuously available, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted, error-free or disruption-free operation.
We may carry out scheduled or emergency maintenance. Access to the application may be temporarily limited in such situations.
Interruptions may occur due to factors outside our control, such as issues with infrastructure providers, app stores, internet networks, operating systems, devices, cyberattacks, technical errors or force majeure.
21. Technical infrastructure and security
Truo runs on cloud infrastructure and uses technical providers necessary for the operation of the application. Details regarding provider categories, locations of processing and any data transfers are explained in the Privacy Policy.
We use technical and organizational measures to protect service security, but no IT system is 100% secure. Users must protect their accounts and notify us immediately if they suspect unauthorized access.
22. Intellectual property in Truo
The name "Truo", the interface, design, source code, texts, graphics, databases, logos and any other elements of the application are protected by intellectual property rights and belong to NEXT LEVEL ENTERTAINMENT SRL or its licensors.
You may not copy, reproduce, distribute, modify, decompile, extract, reuse or create derivative works from the application or its elements without our prior written permission, except where expressly permitted by law.
The name and distinctive elements "Truo" may be protected as a trade name, trademark, visual identity element and/or by other applicable rights. Formal trademark registration may be carried out separately, without affecting existing rights.
23. Technical prohibitions
It is prohibited:
- to copy, extract, collect, index or reuse profiles, photographs, messages or other user data;
- to use scraping, crawling, bots, scripts or automated tools to access the application;
- to attempt to circumvent technical limitations, suspensions, restrictions or security systems;

Breach of this section may lead to suspension or closure of the account and to the taking of available legal measures.
24. Profiles, recommendations and algorithms
Profiles, recommendations, display order, estimated compatibility or the availability of certain interactions may depend on criteria such as declared preferences, account activity, user settings, approximate location, profile availability, technical limits, anti-abuse measures and other criteria relevant to the operation of the application.
Algorithms and recommendations are indicative. Truo does not guarantee that the displayed profiles are compatible with you, that you will receive matches, messages, dates or any particular result.
We do not use algorithms to guarantee compatibility, romantic success or relationships.
25. We do not guarantee matching or compatibility
Truo does not promise or guarantee:
- that you will find a partner, a relationship or a particular result;
- compatibility with the persons displayed;
- the complete accuracy of other users' profiles;
- that our algorithms will provide you with "perfect" matches;
- that use of premium features will produce a particular result;
- that other users will respond to messages, want to communicate or want to meet;
- the number of active users in a certain area or period.
Decisions regarding interactions with other users belong to you. You are responsible for your choices.
26. In-person meetings. Assumption of risks
If you decide to meet another user in real life:
- you do so at your own risk;
- you accept that Truo does not systematically verify the identity, intentions or history of other users;
- you understand that we do not control users' offline conduct and cannot guarantee your safety;
- you are responsible for taking reasonable precautions.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Truo is not liable for incidents, harm, losses or conflicts arising between users as a result of their online or offline interactions.
27. Important safety recommendations

You may influence recommendations through the settings available in the application, by updating your profile and by changing device permissions, where applicable.
2.7. Messages and interactions
We process messages sent and received in the application, as well as metadata necessary for the operation of the service, such as the date and time of the message, sender, recipient and delivery status.
Messages are processed for delivery, operation of conversations, safety, moderation, investigation of reports and compliance with legal obligations.

These materials are not displayed publicly, except for a possible "verified profile" indicator, if the feature is available.
If we use facial comparison technology involving biometric data for the unique identification of a person, we will request your explicit consent before using this feature and will provide additional information about the processing.
If we introduce identity document verification, we will explain separately what data is collected, who verifies it, how long it is kept and whether third-party providers are used. However, some technical providers may involve processing or access from outside the EEA. In such cases, we use appropriate safeguards provided by the GDPR, such as adequacy decisions, Standard Contractual Clauses, additional security measures or other applicable legal mechanisms.
Additional details may be provided on request, to the extent permitted by law and by confidentiality obligations applicable to providers.
8. How long we keep data
We keep data only for as long as necessary for the purposes described in this Policy, for the operation of the account, for compliance with legal obligations, for security, for dispute resolution or for the defense of our rights.

We may apply a limited retention period after account closure for safety, abuse prevention and request resolution. For accounts closed in the ordinary course, this period is usually up to 90 days, except where law, security, disputes or legal obligations justify a longer period.
